Why did I start Naked Hospitality? You’ve probably figured out by now, that it wasn’t to be politically correct. I started the site with the belief that truthful conversations about hospitality marketing would inspire new ideas. Ones that have real-world impact, encourage paradigm-shifting execution, and demonstrate that far-sighted risk taking can deliver meaningful return on investment. Hopefully, you will be inspired to add to the conversation by posing questions—hard ones, sharing your marketing experiences—whether triumphant or tragic, and encouraging others to join us. Bottom line: I want to create a dialog of fresh thinking with you, the hospitality marketing community. This is the beauty and fun of innovation. It is no one’s to own and all of ours to debate, and to try and move forward. I look forward to hearing from you.

About John Fareed, MSc CHME ISHC John Fareed is Principal of John Fareed Hospitality Consulting LLC. He is an internationally recognized authority in the field of hospitality marketing, and has spoken on the topic at industry events in Brazil, Croatia, Egypt, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, United Kingdom, and across the US, Canada and Caribbean. Fareed has appeared as an expert on national television programs including ABC News, CNN and Fox News Network, in publications such as the New York Times, USA Today, and the Wall Street Journal, and has had articles published in numerous trade journals.

Fareed holds two postgraduates including a Master of Science degree in Hospitality Management from the Dublin Institute of Technology’s School of Hospitality Management and Tourism in Dublin, Ireland—where he is currently pursuing a PhD—as well as professional designations from the prestigious International Society of Hospitality Consultants [ISHC] and the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International [HSMAI]. HSMAI recognized Fareed as one of the “Top 25 Extraordinary Minds in Sales and Marketing”, and he currently serves on the Board of Directors for ISHC and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for HSMAI’s International Foundation.

Fareed is a frequent lecturer at some of the world’s best hotel schools including the Institut de Management Hôtelier International at the École Supérieure des Sciences Economíques et Commerciales, one of Europe’s preeminent business schools, in Paris, France.
